Privacy policy
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Dareia, ul. Nastrojowa 58/5, 91-496 Łódź, Poland, tax ID (NIP) 7251926767. Privacy contact: dogmination@dareia.eu.
In short
- The game is free and needs no account. It has no analytics of its own; ad statistics are collected by Google AdMob (see below).
- Every few matches the game shows an ad from Google (AdMob). A one-time "No ads" purchase in Google Play turns them off.
- Playing against bots and over the same Wi-Fi sends no data beyond your phone and home network; data goes to Google for ads and the purchase, and to Epic Games only when playing over the internet – see below.
- Data sent to Google and Epic Games is encrypted in transit.
Data stored only on your device
Settings (language, volume, vibration, colour-blind mode), the year of birth you enter at first launch, the last map and dog you picked, results and stars, your nickname for playing with others, the count of matches until the next ad and whether "No ads" was bought. They never reach us or anyone else. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the game removes them.
Playing over the same Wi-Fi
Phones connect directly within your local network. Other players in the room see your nickname, your dog and colour and what you do in the match; the devices know each other's local network addresses. Nothing is sent to the internet or to us. Local network traffic is not encrypted – play this way on a network you trust.
Playing over the internet (Epic Online Services)
To find rooms and connect players, the game uses Epic Online Services (EOS), a service of Epic Games, Inc., 620 Crossroads Blvd., Cary, North Carolina 27518, USA. No Epic account is needed. When you use this option, the following is processed:
- an anonymous device identifier created by Epic (it contains no personal details, but recognises the same device in later games),
- a player ID (Product User ID) that Epic assigns based on the device identifier – you'll find it in Options → Privacy policy; it's how we find your data when you ask us to delete it,
- the operating system and phone model, sent when that identifier is created,
- the nickname you enter in the game (other players in the room see it),
- your IP address – needed to connect; with a direct connection other players in the match may learn it too,
- the course of the match (the dogs' moves and actions), sent between players during the game and not stored by us,
- technical and diagnostic data collected by the EOS library (e.g. game and system version, connection errors).
Epic Games processes this data as described in Epic's privacy policy: https://www.epicgames.com/site/privacypolicy. We run no server of our own and do not store this data ourselves.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Ads are served by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) through AdMob. To show ads, measure them (statistics and analytics) and prevent fraud, Google processes, among other things:
- your device's advertising ID (you can reset or delete it in Android settings) and app set ID,
- your IP address, from which Google estimates your approximate location (e.g. country or city), and information about the device, system and app,
- interactions with the app and ads (e.g. app launches, taps, ad views and clicks),
- diagnostic data about how the app and the ad library perform (e.g. launch time, hangs, energy use).
In the European Economic Area and the UK, Google asks for your consent to personalised ads at first launch. Without consent you see non-personalised ads. At first launch the game asks for your year of birth. If you could be under 16, it tags ad requests as coming from someone under the age of consent (under 13, also as child-directed): Google then shows only non-personalised ads and doesn't ask for consent. Only this tag reaches Google, not your year of birth. Change your choices in Options → Privacy → "Ad settings". The game asks Google for ads suitable for everyone only (rating G). No ads appear in matches with other players.
Details: how Google uses data from partner apps – https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, Google's privacy policy – https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The "No ads" purchase
Payment is handled by Google Play – we never see your card or Google account details. The game only receives a confirmation of the purchase from Google Play (product ID, time and transaction number) to turn ads off, also after reinstalling. The purchase is subject to the Google Play terms.
Purpose and legal basis
- Playing with others over the internet: providing the feature you ask for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Security and operation of the service (e.g. connection diagnostics): legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Personalised ads: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time in the ad settings; non-personalised ads that fund the free game: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- The "No ads" purchase: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Epic Games is based in the USA, and Google may also process data outside the EEA. Data is transferred under the mechanisms provided for by the GDPR, described in Epic's and Google's privacy policies (e.g. the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).
How long
Data on your device – until you delete it. Data in Epic Online Services – according to Epic's privacy policy; advertising and purchase data – according to Google's privacy policy. We don't keep match data.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object. Write to us at dogmination@dareia.eu with the ID from Options → Privacy policy (it's the only way we can find your internet play data) – we'll also help you reach Epic Games about data from internet play. You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Poland: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa).
Deleting your data
- Data on your device: clear the app's data or uninstall the game.
- Data in Epic Online Services: in the game, choose Options → Privacy policy → "Request deletion". The game immediately removes the internet play login from your phone (the phone is no longer linked to that data) and prepares an e-mail to us with your internet play ID. Once we receive it, we delete your data in Epic Online Services within 30 days and confirm by reply. You can also copy the ID from the same place and send it to dogmination@dareia.eu.
- The game doesn't know your name, e-mail address or any account – only this ID lets us find your data. If you uninstall the game without sending it to us, the data in Epic Online Services is no longer linked to your device or to you and we can't find it; it remains stored according to Epic's privacy policy.
Children
The game doesn't ask for personal data. The year of birth from the first launch stays on your device and is used only to choose the kind of ads (see "Ads"). If you're a parent and believe your child has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
This website
- dogmination.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no scripts or fonts from third-party services – everything is served from our own server.
- The server keeps technical logs: IP address, date and time, the page visited and browser information. They are used only to keep the site secure and running (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), kept briefly and overwritten automatically.
- If you choose the site language yourself (PL / EN), your browser remembers that choice on your device (localStorage). It is not sent to us.
- The "Get it on Google Play" button is a plain link – data reaches Google only once you click it, under Google's terms.
Changes
We'll announce changes to this policy in the game's update notes; the current version is always available in the game (Options → Privacy policy) and at https://dogmination.com/privacy.
